We are an amalgam free practice.

Fillings directly placed in the teeth are either composite resins or glass ionomer cements. They appear much more natural and are less invasive than amalgams since they bond directly to the tooth. These fillings can be used in both front and back teeth.

Indirect ceramic fillings (inlays and onlays) may be used in certain instances with the help of a dental lab. Once the tooth has been prepared, it is scanned using modern digital technology and a custom-made inlay/onlay is made by the dental lab and cemented onto the tooth at the next visit. A temporary filling is placed to protect the tooth in the meantime and generally the wait for the new ceramic filling is not very long at all. Indirect ceramic fillings may be made for teeth that may be weakened due to fracture, cracked or have previously failed large fillings. On suitable teeth inlays and onlays can be a stronger alternative than a directly placed filling.
