COVID UPDATE OCTOBER 2022

As of Friday 14/10/22, covid isolation rules have eased.

However, with respect to the dental setting, there are still some protocols to be followed.

These will be in place for the protection of our staff, their families, patients & visitors to the practice.

The following protocols will be in place:

  • covid positive cases cannot be seen until after a MINIMUM of 7 days & only if asymptomatic
  • close contacts can only be seen if asymptomatic & testing negative. As per SA Health close contact guidelines, wearing a mask in the surgery (indoor settings) will reduce the risk of spread to others in the 7 days after exposure to a positive covid case
  • anyone who is unwell or showing cold & flu symptoms of any kind, even if mild, will be asked to reschedule their appointment
  • masks are now optional for staff, patients and anyone else attending the surgery. Masks will be encouraged to protect vulnerable people, especially if you are an asymptomatic close contact
  • screening questions will still be asked of everyone making appointments
  • use of hand gel upon entry & exit of the practice as well as pre-treatment mouth rinses will continue

We really appreciate your understanding & co-operation in keeping our staff, families, patients & members of the community safe.

Covid is still present in the community & as a higher risk setting, our main priority is health & safety, as well as providing excellent dental care of course!

Thank you.
