For the nervous or uncomfortable patients, we offer additional services that may help make treatment easier.
We can use laughing gas (nitrous oxide) which helps one relax whilst undergoing dental treatment. It is easy and safe to use and wears off very quickly once treatment is complete.
For those patients who may need a little more help relaxing and/or need extensive dental treatment, treatment can be done under IV sedation with a visiting anaesthetist at our surgery. It is also easy and safe, with most patients having a good sleep in the dental chair and waking up with the treatment completed and little or no memory of it. However, it requires fasting before treatment, and a family member or friend to take you home afterwards since the sedation drugs take a few hours to wear off.
