Unfortunately due to the current global COVID-19 crisis, we have had to make changes to the way we operate and treat our valuable patients. Due to federal restrictions strongly recommended by the Dental Board of Australia (DBA) and Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) we are unable to continue routine dental treatment at this time. Restrictions are such that we are unable to operate our general dental practice as we normally would due to the high risk of the spread of COVID-19.
All routine dental procedures, especially those that produce aerosols (by using handpieces etc) are to be deferred as per current AHPPC & DBA guidelines. This is unfortunately the majority of procedures that we carry out on a daily basis.
We have also been advised that the stock of masks Australia wide is very limited.
We will therefore be temporarily closing our surgery for four (4) weeks, pending further notice at the end of that period.
We will be closed from Monday 06/04/2020 until Monday 04/05/2020 at this stage.
This is to reduce the risk of spreading this virus that has affected everyone across the globe. We need to protect the health & safety of our team, patients & visitors to the practice, and reduce the spread in any way we can. We work in a very high risk environment, with risk not only to ourselves, but our patients, families and general community. We are very committed to providing a safe environment for everyone.
The Australian Dental Association (SA) will have an emergency service operating in the case of dental emergency.
Please check the ADA (SA) website at https://www.adasa.asn.au/ and click on “Find a Dentist”. You can search for a dentist who is still working under the current dental restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. You will be carefully triaged to determine if you can be seen in this situation.
Alternatively, call us on 8270 2869 to leave a message, or email us at admin@flagstaffdental.com.au with any queries. Messages and emails will not be checked frequently during closure so please be patient for a reply.
We deeply apologise for any inconvenience at this stage. This has not been an easy decision.
Thank you for your understanding. Your oral health is always our priority. We look forward to seeing you when we re-open once restrictions have been lifted or reduced.
