Dentures, whether partial or full, are a removable option for missing teeth. Wearing a custom-made denture improves the smile, helps with chewing, and supports the facial soft tissue structures.

Partial dentures can be made of an acrylic framework or have a metal framework which provides strength without the bulk. Full dentures are made of acrylic. Natural looking acrylic denture teeth are added to the framework to fill in the missing spaces in the mouth.

Dentures can be a more economical option for tooth replacement or where other options such as implants or bridges are not viable. They are custom made over several visits and are also repairable in most cases. Dentures can be used to replace a single tooth up to an entire arch.

If you need a tooth or several teeth removed and are worried about being left with a space, an immediate denture may be an option. The denture (full or partial) is constructed with the teeth in question still in place over several stages. Once the denture has been made, the tooth is removed with the denture being placed immediately so you are not left with a gap in your smile.

Implant retained full dentures are those stabilised by implants placed in the jaw bone.
